Marta Finkelštein is a performer and curator living in Vilnius with her husband, daughter, and a dog
Marta combines theoretical and practical interests in the research of the curator's potential in the field of music, alongside being active as a performer. Recently she graduated from the University of Applied Sciences in Northern Switzerland with a degree in music curating as well as in the Summer of 2023 she became artistic doctorate with her thesis Curating Music in Contemporaneity: contexts, Lithuanian Scene and Ensemble Synaesthesis, at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
In recent years, her main focus has been on the activities of the contemporary music ensemble Synaesthesis, where she curated sound projects in collaboration with instrumentalists, composers, and artists of various fields. Under her leadership, the ensemble's activities were recognized with national and international awards - the Young Creator Prize, the St. Christopher statuette for achievements in the contemporary music field as well as the Ernst von Siemens Ensemble Prize.
